FAQ

Q: Where do I begin? How do I know which products to use?

A: Our skincare philosophy is that no one on the planet knows your skin and what it needs better than you do. We have a limited range of products so it is common for customers to buy the full range and then to mix and match from day to day depending on what they need. There are no hard and fast rules.

For normal/dry/combination types we recommend starting with the Oil-Milk Cleanser, the Skin Tonic and the Everyday Cream. Exfoliate with the Deep Cleansing Powder 2-3 times per week.

Then add any of these hydrating treatment products:

  • Hydrating + Firming = Wildflower Water-Cream
  • Hydrating + Regenerating = Facial Hydrating Oil
  • Hydrating + Calming = The Balm

For Oily Skin we recommend starting with the Oil-Milk Cleanser and the Skin Tonic.Exfoliate with the Deep Cleansing Powder 3 times per week.

Then add any of these hydrating treatment products:

  • Hydrating + Firming = Wildflower Water-Cream
  • Hydrating + Regenerating = Facial Hydrating Oil

Q: Are your products endorsed with Beauty Without Cruelty?

A: Yes, all of our products are endorsed by Beauty Without Cruelty and are 100% vegan.

Q: Is your product suitable for sensitive skin?

A: Yes, our products do not contain any soaps / SLS , synthetic fragrances and parabens  and our natural ingredients are soothing for sensitive skins.

For more information look at our Skin Guide

Q: Are your products suitable for oily, acne-prone skin?

A: Yes, oils are very helpful to balance oily skin. Often products targeted at oily skin contain soaps that strip the skin of its natural oils causingthe sebaceous glands go into overdrive. This results in a sebum buildup and underlying dehydration...which causes an overproduction of oil and more sebum buildup!

For more information look at our Skin Guide

Q: Are your products suitable for eczema?

A:Skin Creamery products, while not a cure, can greatly help to soothe the symptoms of eczema. Our ingredients have high anti-inflammatory properties, as well as vitamin C and other herbs and minerals which help maintain a healthy skin barrier.

Q: Do you have a trial set?

A: Yes, our Sample Set you to trial the full range. Each sample purse contains 10ml Everyday Cream, 10ml Oil-Milk Cleanser, 5g Deep Cleansing Powder, 5ml Facial Hydrating Oil, 5ml Skin Tonic, 2 x Wildflower Water-Cream sachets.

Q: Why do you package in glass?

A: Glass is a safer and more sustainable packaging option than plastic, or even recycled plastic. There is no danger of chemicals leaking from the plastic into the product making it safer for your health. Glass is widely recycled and has an infinite life cycle meaning the same glass can be recycled again and again.

Q: What is the shelf life of your products?

A: All Skin Creamery products have a shelf life of 18-24 months. Please see the BB date stamped at the bottom of your product along with the batch number.

Q: Do you offer a recycling programme?

A: We don’t have a bottle recycling program. The amount of water used to properly clean and sanitize the bottles added to the extra shipping to get the bottles back to us actually leaves a larger carbon footprint than if our customers recycle the bottles themselves.

Q: Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?

A: Yes, Skin Creamery products are safe to use during pregnancy.

We only caution against using the Shower Oil and the Deep Cleansing Powder in the first trimester.

The Shower Oil has a higher concentration of essential oils than our skincare collection. For this reason, we recommend asking your doctor or practitioner for their advice regarding the topical application of essential oils during pregnancy. You can reference the complete ingredient lists on our website.

The Deep Cleansing Powder contains Buchu. Buchu is a diuretic and internal use is advised against during the first trimester. We recommend asking your doctor or practitioner for their advice regarding the topical application of buchu.

Q: I have some cream left in my 200ml bottle, how do I get it all out?

A:Place the 200ml bottle into some hot water to make the cream more liquid.

You can also decant it onto a smaller container for easier usage or for a travelling size. We offer theEveryday Cream in a 100ml Jar for people who prefer not to use a pump.
